Dr. Bill Wells, the Mayor of El Cajon, California, has dedicated his career to public service, embarking on this journey in 2004 as a Planning Commissioner. His commitment to his community led to his election to the El Cajon City Council in 2008, eventually culminating in his role as Mayor since 2013. Dr. Wells, a mental health professional with 30 years of experience as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology and a Registered Nurse, has emerged as a nationally recognized expert on homelessness.

His contributions extend beyond the professional realm, with Dr. Wells actively engaging in advocacy for conservative causes. His influence reverberates through articles penned for both local and national publications, and frequent appearances on notable shows such as Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, Fox and Friends, Fox Business, the Trace Gallagher Show, and One America News Network.

During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Wells demonstrated leadership by prioritizing the mental and financial well-being of his constituents. Taking a firm stance against overreaching restrictions, he directed the El Cajon Police Department to refrain from enforcing stringent regulations and shutdowns. As a result, businesses and churches in El Cajon remained open when others across the county faced closures. Rejecting vaccine mandates, Mayor Wells welcomed public safety officers who had been forced out of other municipalities.

A vocal critic of the Housing First and Defund the Police movements, Mayor Wells has played a pivotal in maintaining El Cajon’s balanced budget and a substantial $67 million reserve. Beyond politics, he is a proficient musician who has raised significant funds for causes like the East County Transitional Living Center and the Home of Guiding Hands through benefit concerts.

Currently, Mayor Bill Wells is seeking to represent the people of California’s 51st Congressional District. Born and raised in the district, Bill has been part of the workforce since the age of 11, undertaking diverse jobs from working at Jack in the Box to founding and operating his healthcare company.
